Carolyn Parker: Personal Trainer and Pilates Instructor

img_carolyn-beachCarolyn has 14 years experience in the Fitness Industry. Starting as a Group Fitness Leader and Personal trainer , Carolyn soon found the benefits of the Pilates method to enhance one’s training of both the body and mind. Starting as an apprentice for one of the top STOTT PILATES studios in the USA, Carolyn soon came to work full time as a Pilates Instructor in 2002. From which she received an irresistible job offer to be the first STOTT PILATES instructor to teach Pilates in Reykjavik, Iceland. In Reykjavik, where she lived for close to 3 years teaching Pilates full time, Carolyn had the unique opportunity to become trained in the full Pilates method which utilizes equipment as well as matwork. She then was able to tour much of Europe. As a result of the love to see new places,Carolyn came to live in Christchurch New Zealand in 2006. During her first 2 years in Christchurch Carolyn ran her own Pilates Studio in Sumner and then last year joined together with Contours Ferrymead where she continues to practice pilates using the STOTT PILATES method.  
She hopes to help you realize the many benefits Pilates has to offer. Which include core abdominal and back strength, lean muscles without the bulk, enhanced mobility and flexibility, improved balance and coordination, alleviating pain and tension, and most importantly restoring the body to a natural posture.Carolyn herself, has seen all these benefits in her own body, and the many bodies she has worked with over the years. Currently, she is using her Pilates training to an advantage as she trains with the Circus here in Christchurch on the Trapeze, Tissu and in Balancing acts. She has found her Pilates background to enhance her abilities as an athlete in whatever sport she enjoys whether its biking, hiking, swimming, salsa dancing, balancing people above her head, or climbing a Tissu in the Circus!
Carolyn has joined the team at Form Fitness Private Training Studio and brings with her a great knowledge of the human body. She is looking forward to working with you to enhance your performance, strength and fitness by using your own body core strength and realigning poor posture into an upright, strong, and pain free posture!
